MONTHLY ORONOCO TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
AUGUST 2, 2010
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
The monthly Oronoco Township board Meeting was called to order on August 2, 2010 at 7:00 PM by chairman, Mark Thein. Supervisors Neil Stolp and Richard Lyke, treasurer Kim Stanton and the clerk were present.
Neil Stolp made a motion to approve the July 6, 2010 minutes, Mark Thein seconded. Passed unanimous 3-0.
The Treasurer’s report in written form showed the year to date “Statement of Receipts, Disbursements and Balances” as of July 31, 2010 receipts $267,121.80 and disbursements $205,787.63 with an ending balance of $919,221.24. Olmsted County has issued $199,903.93 tax settlement. Kim will be checking with Pine Island Bank regarding interest rates on Money Market and CD’s. Olmsted County Planning will be submitting a 2nd quarter payment for $410.00. Mark Thein made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and Richard Lyke seconded. Passed unanimous 3-0.
Mark Thein made a motion to accept the agenda as presented. Neil Stolp seconded. Passed unanimous.
There was not a report from OPAC-no July meeting.
First Responders reported three runs in July, all in the township. There has not been an gambling money reported to date.
Mark Thein made a motion to pay bills, Neil Stolp seconded. Passed unanimous 3-0.
Sheldon King reported that 100% of the residents on the King’s Marina road are in favor of blacktopping at their expense. The township will be notifying Fred Suhler for legal advice and Olmsted County for engineering and advertising advice. The Board is hoping for a public hearing and bid letting at the September meeting with the signed petition from all of the residents available for review.
Jason Ottman asked the Board if they would be willing to submit a letter to CAP X 2020 recommending the northern route for the power line project. Mark will take care of sending a letter of recommendation and Neil suggested that Jason talk to Kathy Rucker and/or Paige Collins from OPAC as well.
Peoples Coop Power accidently drilled a hole in a culvert on Sattre Road, Allen Schumaker advised them on the best method of repair.
Richard Lyke reported on the Fire meeting; they are taking bids on a tanker truck.
Mark Thein made a motion to adjourn, and Neil Stolp seconded. Passed 3-0.
